This year's recipient is Senate President Bill Ferguson who was first elected to public office in 2010 at the age of 27.  He rose quickly through the ranks to become one of Maryland’s most powerful elected officials.  He has served as President of the Maryland Senate since 2020 representing District 46, which includes almost 60 MMTA members and the Port of Baltimore.  He has been instrumental in working with MMTA through the years on key legislative issues and especially during the state’s response to the Key Bridge collapse.
